The inspiration for this painting is to honor the flower women of Charleston who sold flowers on the streets of the maritime city in the early twentieth century. The flower women were also an inspiration for Charleston Renaissance artists such as Alice Ravenel Huger Smith and Elizabeth O'Neill Verner, whose art work, in turn, has influenced Green.
In celebration of our 50th anniversary at Middleton Place Foundation, we are offering these special release posters made by Jonathan Green. This poster is 24"x18".
All proceeds from the sales support the mission of the Middleton Place Foundation.
